A workshop based on the work of Dr Julia Sloan and Dr Edward de Bono

"Truly innovative strategic thinking is not about playing out new patterns in existing frameworks, but rather, about creating new frameworks and different patterns within these new frameworks."

Dr Julia Sloan

Strategic Thinking is about effectively shaping the future.

We live in a rapidly changing, unpredictable environment.

The problem causes and solutions are complex .

Our thinking frameworks are often only based on linear and adversarial thinking.

This workshop is delivered by live trainers virtually or in person. It is designed to develop the courage, creativity and critical reflective processes to engage in strategic thinking. Agility, innovation, and diversity of thought are essential drivers of sustainability.

Edward de Bono discusses the need to restructure once successful ideas. (3 mins 21 sec)

"In the future, instead of striving to be right at a high cost, it will be more appropriate to be flexible and plural at a lower cost. If you cannot accurately predict the future then you must flexibly be prepared to deal with various possible futures."

Dr Edward de Bono

Strategic Thinking Course and My Thoughts

In 2024, this website will host a workshop on Strategic Thinking with instruction provided live in person or virtually by our training partners. The course is designed to be taken by teams.

Course participants also have access to My Thoughts for a year. This is a computer facilitated process for generating and developing ideas. It is a complement to the course and will help you apply what you have learned.

Reframing practice

Developing the skill of reframing is crucial in strategic thinking. We provide a free test of your ability to reframe a situation. Please register to take the test (we will not use your email for marketing purposes unless you ask us to). Your progress will be recorded and you can view your score in your account. This experience will help you reflect on the role of perception in your thinking.
